YLM Community Directory Features

YLM Directories create a multilayered online database of all businesses and organizations in a community with the most complete and up-to-date information available. Community Partners access administrative data and reports while the public and other businesses, both within and beyond their community, can search for information about local businesses, products and services.

YLM Directories are a highly efficient tool to help Community Partners promote business-to-business activity, BR&E initiatives, Shop Local programs and more, while at the same time automating data gathering functions, the creation of reports and communication with constituents.

A Multi-layered Online Community Database

YLM facilitates partnerships within a community to create the primary source of local business information accessible through multiple Community Partner websites. This allows partners to jointly promote their businesses and communities for greater impact, and data can be shared between Community Partners simply and efficiently.

Community Partners can include Economic Development Offices, Tourism Organizations, Chambers of Commerce and other local associations who help promote the Directory to the community.

Cost-Effective Online Exposure for Local Businesses and the Community

All YLM Directories are indexed by the major search engines, helping local businesses, whether or not they have a website, be more easily found by the growing number of consumers and businesses searching online for local products and services.

Listings can be continually updated by businesses owners who have “24/7” secure access to their own listings.

YLM’s NEW Refresh Data Service:

At YLM we continually work to provide the highest quality local business information to our customers. To this end, we recently outsourced and integrated current telephone directory data into our patented database management system to provide an even more robust and relevant data service to assist you in your Economic Development efforts. This new data is merged with any data you provide, along with other community partner datasets in your area.

Now, for only 30 cents per business, our new Enhanced Refresh Data Service will allow you to upgrade your current database to add, in addition to the current data fields collected (Company Name, Address, NAICs, Employee Range, Revenue Range):

  • Actual location employment numbers for 87% of the records on the business database, allowing you to select specific employee sizes, rather than ranges and create proprietary buckets for employee size criteria
  • Key decision contact name for 78% of these new data records

Enhancing data quality adds depth and value to your reporting, so you can present standard reports, information to site selectors, etc, with confidence that you are providing the very best local business data available.
  • Each small to mid-sized business (1 to 99 employees) was contacted by phone in the past year to confirm accuracy
  • Each business larger than 100 employees was contacted within the last quarter by phone to confirm accuracy

Basic and Enhanced Business Listings

All businesses in a community are provided with a free listing that includes:

  • Company name, description, phone #, hours of operation, web and email addresses
  • Icons to identify the services and amenities they offer and to highlight members of Community Partner memberships such as their local Chamber of Commerce or Tourism Association
  • Mapping to their location
  • Secure access to add or change information at any time
  • Free monthly email Search Results Report on search activity to their listing
YLM offers enhanced listings that enable businesses to create a compelling yet easy to manage web presence at very reasonable cost by adding more information, visuals or a link to their website, as well as interactive tools such as a calendar of events and printable e-coupons they can create or change whenever they wish to help draw in more customers.
